Each time in history has its own idea of beauty and from early times artist have recorded their particular version of “ beauty” . In this painting woman is simbolised with goddess. Painter wanted to express woman as objects d’art when people pinted female figures in silk.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sofia Varazi was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and studied at the Acad- emy of Fine Arts. She has exhibited in Sydney, Australia, Moscow and Tbilisi; her paintings are in private collections in these cities and in London. She has illustrated children's books and worked on documentary films. Sofia's studio is in Sololaki, the historic area of Tbilisi.
